Author Chris Grabenstein to Visit Knoxville

the Center for Children's and Young Adult Literature at UT in honoring
Chris Grabenstein with an Accomplished Alumni Award on Thursday, October 1, at 7 p.m.
in the Frank H. McClung Museum Auditorium at 1327 Circle Park. A
lecture, short reception and book signing will follow. Carpe Librum
will have copies of Grabenstein's adult and young adult titles for
purchase. Grabenstein is an award-winning mystery writer and children's book author. A former advertising executive and improvisational comedian, Grabenstein's writing talent was first discovered by international bestselling author James Patterson, his Creative Director at J. Walter Thompson Advertising. Chris has written screenplays, made-for-TV movies, and Muppet scripts.
Grabenstein's most recent release, The Hanging Hill, is the second installment is his ghost series for middle school students. He won the Anthony Award for Best First Mystery for his debut novel, Tilt-A-Whirl--the first in a series. The second novel in the series, Mad Mouse, was called one of the Ten Best Mysteries of 2006 by Kirkus.
